1 – 4 Unit Residential
Residential investment properties that contain 1 to 4 units are eligible for the same rates as owner-occupied properties provided that commercial units are not part of the property, that the total number of units are permitted by zoning by-laws, that the properties conform with building and fire codes, and that income and expenses are reasonable for the types of properties.
These types of properties can be financed to 80% of their purchase price or value, and corporations are eligible to borrow the loans provided that the principals of the companies guarantee repayment.
